EACA Collie of the Year was held as always at Littleport Leisure Centre on 4th January. Aoife and Morse were entered in the Pup of the Year competition and Morse was awarded Runner-up Pup of the Year. Maverick was entered in the Adult of the Year and he won. He then went on to compete against the Veteran and Puppy winners and was crowned Supreme Overall winner. Judges were Bev White (Maneric) and Pauline Luxmoore-Ball (Hushwing/Zima).

First show of the year for us was the Lichfield CS open show. Aoife was placed 3rd in puppy and Heidi 4th in puppy, Morse was placed 2nd in Junior under judge Lynn Vidak (Lacewood). Morse then went in the puppy stakes under judge Simon Luxmoore (Hushwing/Zima) and was placed 5th out of 25.

15th February and the Yorkshire Collie Club open show. Judge Jake Walsh (Rosschell) placed Morse 1st Puppy dog and Reserve Best Puppy in Show, Maverick 1st Open dog and Reserve Best dog. Heidi was 1st Puppy bitch, Aoife was 2nd in Junior bitch and Best Puppy bitch. Gypsy was 2nd in Open Bitch.


14th February and the NWPBS open show. Heidi won the Puppy class under judge Sarah Flower, Aoife was 3rd in Puppy and Morse was 2nd in Junior.

Midland Collie Club championship show was held on 7th February and the judge was Trevor Hayward (Foxearth). Heidi was 5th in Puppy bitch, Aofie was 2nd in Junior bitch and Gypsy was unplaced in Open bitch. The boys were the stars today. Morse winning the Puppy dog class and Reserve Best Puppy dog. Maverick won the Open dog class and his 4th Challenge Certificate, along with Reserve Best in Show and Best Opposite Sex in Show.

25th January and off down to Stoneleigh again. No classes for roughs so we had to enter the AVNSC classes under judge Russell Jones (Quermerford). Aoife won the puppy class and Heidi was placed 5th. Morse was third in junior but was awarded Best AVNSC puppy and puppy group 3. Maverick won the open class and was awarded Best AVNSC and pastoral group 3.


24th January and off down to Stoneleigh for the Redditch & DCS show. Heidi won the puppy class and Best Puppy and Aoife was second under judge Amanda Mills. Morse won the Junior class and Maverick won the open class and Best of Breed,


The British Collie Club Rough Collie of the Year was held on 10th January. We only took Maverick in to the Adult competition but he was unplaced under judges Allyson King (Allyking), Stephen Clark (Derbypark) and Wiel-Bertie Smeijsters (Timeless Twilight).
